CPAS makes invisible coastal and airspace users — kayakers, paddle boarders, sailors, swimmers, paraglider pilots — visible to rescue services. Using nothing but a phone.
Thousands of people on water and in low-level airspace are completely invisible to rescue services every day.
Every time a kayaker launches, a paddle boarder heads out, or a paraglider takes flight, they become a Dark Target — invisible to the coastguard, mountain rescue, and every other emergency service.
When something goes wrong, rescue crews are searching blind. It costs critical time, it puts SAR crews at risk, and it costs lives.
Existing solutions require expensive hardware, paid subscriptions, or manual check-in. Most recreational users have neither.
CPAS — Common Position Awareness System — is a patented technology that turns any mobile phone into a position beacon.
Download the CPAS app, set your course, set your timer, and send tokens via text to friends. Press start and have fun! 😊
→Your position appears on a live 3D Digital Twin map visible to rescue services. Updated in real time. Adaptive ping rates based on your activity.
→If something goes wrong, rescue crews know exactly where you are. No searching blind. No wasted time. Faster response, better outcomes.
The South Coast pilot brings together clubs from Newhaven to Shoreham — sailing, kayaking, SUP, paragliding, open water swimming and fishing — in the UK's first community-powered position awareness trial.
The pilot covers one of the UK's most active coastal corridors for recreational water and air users. Clubs along this stretch are the first to test CPAS in real conditions — proving that a phone ping can replace thousands of pounds of tracking hardware.
CPAS is designed so that cost is never a barrier to safety.
Works with the phone already in your pocket or dry bag.
No monthly fee. No premium tier. Safety shouldn't have a paywall.
Register once. After that, your phone does the rest automatically.
Our first feasibility study launches this summer across the Seaford to Shoreham corridor — three months of live testing with clubs and individuals already on the water and in the air.
CPAS won't stop there. We're building a register along the entire South Coast so that as the system expands, you're already in. Register now and we'll keep you informed as the study progresses and new areas come online.
Your registration has been received.
We'll be in touch before the pilot begins with everything you need to get started.
